About National Disaster Management Authority Internship Programme 2026
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), headquartered in New Delhi and chaired by the Prime Minister, is India’s apex statutory body for disaster management under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. NDMA coordinates national policies, response frameworks, mitigation strategies, and capacity-building initiatives across areas like risk analysis, community-based disaster management, climate adaptation, and urban resilience.

For law students, the NDMA internship provides specialized exposure to the legal aspects of disaster governance, including interpretation of the DM Act, drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance with international conventions, liability frameworks in relief operations, and policy research linking administrative law with emergency response mechanisms.
Eligibility
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme in Disaster Management or in an equivalent postgraduate degree program such as Development Studies, Economics, Humanities, Sciences, Management, Engineering, Health Studies, etc. OR
- Have recently graduated with a university degree in the concerned subject.
- If the student pursues a different academic discipline, there should be a clear linkage with disaster management.

- Excellent computer knowledge (Microsoft Office applications).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent interactive and interpersonal skills, and flexibility to work in a multicultural environment.
Application Process
- Visit the NDMA Jobs portal.
- Download and complete the Bio Data Pro Forma.
- Prepare your Statement of Purpose (SOP) detailing your interest area.
- Attach your CV and university recommendation (if available).
- Submit all documents via the Verification Form (signed on each page).
- Applications are typically open monthly (1st–10th) or on a rolling basis, depending on NDMA’s requirements.
- Only one application per financial year is allowed. Incomplete submissions will be rejected.

Interested students must apply through the NDMA Jobs portal only. The duly completed internship application includes the following:
- Link 1 – Application Form: Duly filled Bio Data Pro Forma
- Link 2 – Verification & Statement of Purpose: Download the verification form, fill it, and attach your SOP
Instructions
- Download the verification form from Link 2, then fill the application form.
- Ensure all fields are filled correctly and upload scanned copies of all mandatory documents.
- Once the applicant submits the form, editing will not be possible. Multiple submissions may lead to rejection.
- After submitting the internship application via Link 1, go to Link 2 to submit the verification form along with the application form, duly signed on each page.
- Applications will be considered only if both forms are completed.
- Any deficiency in documents will result in automatic cancellation of the application at any stage.
